In kako je kremšnita prispela na Bled?

Blejska rezina je danes velika uspešnica, vendar vse kaže, da ji je že v 19. stoletju tlakovala pot prav drobna Riklijeva rezina, namenjena najbolj omaganim in izstradanim Riklijevim pacientom. Današnji gostje, ki obiščejo Bled prav zaradi slastne blejske kremšnite, bodo verjetno želeli poskusiti tudi Riklijevo, saj jih bo morda prav za trenutek vrnila v nekdanje zdraviliške čase, ko je bilo Riklijevo zdravljenje vredno suhega zlata.

Kakor lahko iz navodil zdraviliškega reda preberemo, je bila kultura prehranjevanja tam bolj pičla in določena po strogih vegetarijanskih pravilih. Uživanje mesa in alkohola je bilo v večini primerov popolnoma izključeno. To je med zdraviliškimi gosti vodilo do občasne nejevolje in nezadovoljstva. Tako se je Arnold odločil, da bo ob posebnih prilikah pri strogem razporedu jedi malo popustil in je svoje goste občasno osrečil z majhno sladico, ki so jo le-ti seveda z vso naklonjenostjo sprejeli.

Nova sladka pregreha, sicer v novi preobleki s čokoladno prevleko ter Riklijevim napisom je več kot odlična noviteta visoko kvalitetne slaščičarske ponudbe Bleda in dokazano dostojna Riklijevega imena.

So, how did kremšnita cream cake come to Bled?

Today, the Bled Cream cake is a big hit, but all the evidence suggests that it was the tiny Rikli’s cake, intended for the most emaciated and starving of Rikli’s patients, that paved the way back in the 19th century. Today’s guests who visit Bled for the delicious Bled Cream Cake will probably also want to try Rikli’s, as it might just take them back for a moment to the spa days of yore when Rikli’s treatments were worth their weight in pure gold.

As can be seen from the Spa Order, the dietary culture in Rikli’s Spa Institute, was rather limited and entirely vegetarian. In most cases, the consumption of meat and alcohol was prohibited. This led to a degree of unrest and discontent among the guests. Arnold eventually decided to somewhat relax his strict food regime by providing his guests with an occasional treat: a small cake, a change they welcomed favorably.

The new sweet vice, in a new guise with a chocolate coating and Rikli’s inscription, is more than an excellent novelty of Bled’s high-quality confectionery offer and worthy of Rikli’s name.
